School of Art and Enrichment

The Playhouse School of Art & Enrichment was founded in 2005 to offer everyone, no matter what age or creativity level, the opportunity to explore the world through art. We help guide artists and inspire creativity with our wide selection of material, textures and mediums. Each session includes new lessons and projects.

Little Artist & Me: ages 2 to 5 (+1 adult)

This hands-on creative texture class is appropriate for even the smallest of artists. You and your little one will have fun painting and working on specialty projects together. From painting to play dough to plaster, this class is a great way to spend time together to create (and to get a little messy, too).

Little Picassos: ages 3 to 4

This basic introduction to abstract art reinforces hand/eye coordination and color recognition through the world of art. Even the littlest ones can create personal paintings. With painting smocks on and paintbrushes in hand, these children paint, paint, paint (and you don't have to worry about the mess).

Little Monets: ages 3 to 4

Children explore the world of art through many different types of textured materials. Each week, we focus on projects relating to certain shapes, letters, numbers, and colors while reinforcing little artists' motor skills. Each class is based on a weekly theme.

Little Van Goghs: ages 4 to 6

This class introduces young artists to more detailed drawings and paintings. We focus on paper art and tools with crayons, pencils, charcoal, and paint.

Little Seurats: ages 4 to 6

This class is appropriate for students in kindergarten or first grade. Together, we explore many different forms of art, including Seurat's method in dot painting. Young artists will learn about other famous artists and illustrators (such as Seurat, Picasso, Pollack, Eric Carle, and others) as they create their weekly masterpieces.

Creative Happy People: all ages

This combo class is appropriate for any aspiring artist. Lessons are part instruction and part free exploration. Classes start with a famous artist's work and focus on using the same mediums and techniques to create students' own masterpieces. Artists can work at their own pace on certain projects.
